Interview

What do you like/dislike most about being an author?

I love getting the voices out of my head and onto my WIP. I enjoy interacting with readers, but I’d write even if I didn’t publish. Being a stay-at-home mother is about the hardest thing I ever did and I was going nuts. Seconds, the voices in my head wouldn’t leave me a lone. I have so many ideas and so little time…SIGH.

What I hate the most is plotting, storyboarding with detailed plotlines broken down into scenes for each chapter. This works great when you have a mystery to solve though. I’d rather listen to my characters and seeing which direction they want to go. Plotting somehow makes me feel restricted and stifles my creativity. That doesn’t mean I don’t usually have a guideline. I usually know what is going to happen at the beginning and the end; who the villain is and their motive; my characters’ motives and goals, and some of the conflicts they must overcome. How and when these events will take place is really up to the characters once I start writing. The conflicts tend to pile up as the story unfolds.

Who are some of your favorite authors?

Middle-grade authors of Harry Potter series, Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Pendragon series, Eragon series, R.L. Stine books, Alex Rider series, Artemis Fowl series.

YA-authors of Vampire Dairies, Vampire Academy, House of Night series, Hungers Games, Vladimir Todd series, Daughters of the Moon series,,

Adult authors: J.R. Ward, Sherrilyn Kenyon, L.A. Banks,
Historical authors like Jude Deveraux, Judith McKnight and Catherine Coulter
Espionage and medical thrillers by Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Jonathan Cook, James Grisham.

What are some of your favorite movies/tv shows?

Detective series whether it is medical, police or fantasy: White Collar, NYPD Blues, Monk, Dr. House, CSI, NCIS, Criminal Minds, Supernatural, Ghost Whisperer, Medium, Fringe…

Guilty pleasures: Vampire Diaries, Pretty Little Liars, True Blood, Switched, Teen Wolf, Greek…

Do you have any advice for other writers?

Write from the heart, which means write what you want to write and do it everyday. Don’t worry about trends. If Stephanie Meyers had listened to the publishing industry that vampire books were going out, she’d never have written Twilight. I wrote Awakened before books about angels became popular.

What are you currently working on?

I’m working on GRIMNIRS, novella in the Runes series and FORGOTTEN, the next Guardian Legacy series . I’m also working on my next adult romance.

Immortals (Runes #2)

BLURB

Nothing can stop Raine Cooper when she wants something…
Raine finally knows that her gorgeous neighbor, Torin St. James, is a legend straight out of Norse mythology, and that her feelings for him are strong. Torin is crazy about Raine too, breaking the one rule he lives by: Never fall for a mortal. The problem is he no longer remembers her, his memories erased by Norns—Norse destiny deities—to punish her for defying them.

She will make Torin forget his one rule a second time and fall in love with her all over again.
But she quickly learns that well-laid plans do not work when dealing with deities and supernatural beings. Desperate, Raine makes choices that could not only tear her and Torin further apart, but lead to the destruction of everything and everyone she loves.

My Review

Ok so the ending of Runes was insane. My reaction was "What?!" & "Why?! They're so mean! How can they do this?!" Well now that I got that out of my chest, I can go on. With Torin losing all his memories with Raine, she either had to somehow get him to remember their time together or make him fall in love with her all over again. Easier said than done because they did not like each other in the beginning. Of course Raine was still totally smitten with him, Torin just thought she was a silly girl with a crush. As she tries to figure things out with Torin, she also has to protect another important guy in her life. Can she help them both or will she lose them in the process?

Raine: I wanted to wrap myself around him like a pretzel, bury my face in his neck and just soak him in. He hadn't shaved again, but I wasn't complaining. The shadow in his chin made him look even yummier.
"Cat got your tongue?" He teased.
"No it's still here." I stuck out my tongue.
How can he claim he didn't want me yet look at me with such heat? I wanted to kick him or yell at him then kiss him senseless.

This book was so good! I really enjoyed it. 5/5 Stars. I loved the characters, the twists and turns, the surprises and the betrayals. Sounds like the perfect book doesn't it? Well it is. And if I thought the ending of Runes was a surprise, so was this one. I recommend this book to everyone, I thoroughly enjoyed it and I can't wait for the other books to come. I really enjoy Ednah's writing style and her awesome plots and she's got great ideas for the future books, i can't wait to find out.

I'd like to thank Ednah for taking the time out of her super busy schedule to answer some questions.
