Seventeen-year-old Raine Cooper has enough on her plate dealing with her father’s disappearance, her mother’s erratic behavior and the possibility of her boyfriend relocating. The last thing she needs is Torin St. James—a mysterious new neighbor with a wicked smile and uncanny way of reading her.

Raine is drawn to Torin’s dark sexiness against her better judgment, until he saves her life with weird marks and she realizes he is different. But by healing her, Torin changes something inside Raine. Now she can’t stop thinking about him. Half the time, she’s not sure whether to fall into his arms or run.

Scared, she sets out to find out what Torin is. But the closer she gets to the truth the more she uncovers something sinister about him. What Torin is goes back to an ancient mythology and Raine is somehow part of it. Not only is she and her friends in danger, she must choose a side, but the wrong choice will cost Raine her life.

Grimnirs (Runes, #2.5)

Grimnirs Runes 2.5

My Rating

Straight out of the psych ward, Cora just wants her life to be normal. She doesn’t want to see souls or the reapers collecting them. The guy she’s loved from a distance for years moves away without saying goodbye. So yes, she’s nursing a serious heartbreak. It’s no wonder love is the last thing on her mind when Echo storms into her life.

The chemistry between them is mind-blowing.The connection defies logic. Even better, the souls leave her alone when he is around.

Too bad Echo is the poster boy for everything she hates in a guy—hot, beautiful, and cocky. He is also a soul reaper. A Grimnir.
The very beings she wants out of her life. Maybe normal is overrated because Cora wants it all. Answers. Love. A life.

"Now I want to punch every Mortal that looks at you. I want them to know you might live among them but you are mine"

"Come back to me, Cora-mio. I need you to love me, to make my life complete."

"I had my unhappy existence, then I kissed you and my life changed. You gave me a reason to laugh. To love. I now look forward to coming back from Hel because I know you'll be waiting for me."

"My heart might be damaged but it's okay to give it to you. It's your, doll-face. You've had it from the moment you looked into my eyes and showed me I was worthy of your love."

"I can't live without her."

I loved Grimnirs! It was so good; the world, the characters, the plot, everything about it was absolutely awesome. I loved learning more about the world. I liked Cora better in this book, she was like a nicer version of herself since she was confused for pretty much the whole book. Her reactions towards Echo were totally hilarious, she thought he was crazy and making things up. Although she was drawn to him and didn't know why she had this pull towards him. For several reasons, (I think) some of which were because he was the hottest guy she'd ever seen and that she wanted him. But that's besides the point, he was arrogant, annoying, and an endless flirt. She still wanted him, even when he didn't want her.

Echo, OMG Echo. You are swoon worthy and beyond. I loved his possessiveness over Cora. Who doesn't love that? The man wants people to know you're with him! I loved him. I loved his story, which was a bit sad and I almost had the same reaction Cora did. He was a hero, though he didn't think so. He was special and didn't even know it. It's funny how you don't see the best in yourself until someone points it out. He knew all his flaws but didn't give himself credit for anything good he ever did.

This book was more sexual than the other books in this series, although still tasteful and appropriate. It was done really well. That was because Echo was in a relationship with Cora, only she didn't know about it or remember it. Their chemistry was hot beyond belief, the kind that is when they were in love and wanted to be around each other all the time.

Eirik, I feel for him, I really do. I thought things were going to work out for him. He was a God for Christ sake, can't the guy catch a break. That's all I can say about him without spoilers.

I was completely swept up into this story, the world, the characters. I really connected with it all. There was always something going on, never a dull moment. That's the thing about Ednah, she always delivers a great story from start to finish.
