Warning: Don't read this book if you hate f**ked up alpha males, strong female leads, hot sex, and a kismet love story six years in the making. Oh yeah and a plot twist that will leave you reeling.
NFL quarterback, Zolt Hamil was America’s heartthrob until a career ending injury changed his life. Years later, he’s picked up the pieces and carved out a new path for himself. But the mental and physical scars of that day have left him moody and reclusive, and his only relief is indulging in pleasure and pain with his many one night stands. Though many women have tried, Zolt refuses to care about any of them. Only one woman has his heart; a hallucination of a young, sable-eyed, blonde beauty whom he conjured that painful day on the football field.
On the first day at his new job at a law firm in Scottsdale, Arizona, Zolt comes face to face with his hallucination, Irelyn Wilkes. Their fateful connection, and explosive passion for each other pulls them together, and this time, Zolt refuses to let her slip from his life.
But Irelyn has her own demons to fight and her controlling boyfriend is one of them. He doesn't take kindly to other people playing with his toys, and he’ll stop at nothing to keep her by his side.
Can Irelyn and Zolt defy the odds and find a way to be together? Or, will the events set in motion years ago keep them apart forever?

Dawna Raver didn't always want to be a writer, but the voices in her head keep sending her stories, ranging from new adult, romantic fantasy and contemporary romance.
When she's not spending time in her fantasy world, Dawna loves football, reading, and pretending she's a top chef in the kitchen. Oh, and fawning over her dogs and husband, sometimes in that order.

Are you kidding me? My life had changed in one afternoon. I was pretty sure I'd found trouble, and her name was Irelyn.-Zolt

Zolt answered me with his mouth on mine, his tongue claiming and possessing my own.
"Have you seen me kiss her like that?" He asked
"No."
He took my hand and placed it on his groin.
"Do you think this is for her, Irelyn?"
"No."

"I won't allow him to get that close to you again."-Zolt
"How are you going to do that? Lock me up in your house?"
"Tie you to my bed?"
"Hmm, I think I might like that."

"An apology will suffice."-Irelyn
"Oh, I'm going to apologize all right, and I'm going to apologize until you scream my name."-Zolt

I loved this book! I loved Zolten, first of all his name aka Zolt. He was damaged and broken and I loved him for it. The guy didn't know he was part of something big. On a lighter note, I'm so glad he finally found Irelyn, she'd saved him from his nightmares time and time again. He thought she was a figment of his imagination, so when he saw her in the flesh, he couldn't believe his luck. I was so glad they had this connection, it felt real to me. It was a long time coming, I like stories like this that the characters have a type of history before they get together, it seems more believable to me. I don't like insta-love and I'm glad that Zolt and Irelyn weren't like that.
Can we talk about Marcus, he was so sick and twisted, he straight up enraged me. The man had no morals, scruples, nothing. Freakin' sick bastard is what he was! He had plans for everything, and everyone that knew about it are sick bastards too. Marcus was in deep in illegal business and I legit hated him, he was a very bad man.
Zolten and Irelyn's relationship was off the charts hot. Seriously burning up the sheets, could not get enough of each other. They had understanding for each other and passion like they hadn't felt before. OMG were they hot together! Yeah he had mood swings, so what? The man can manhandle me anytime, actually he wouldn't even have to because I'll go willingly, haha. I like a man that can lose control every once in awhile, let go, have fun. Not everything in life has to be planned out. I loved Zolt!
The ending OMG! Seriously. I didn't see it coming, but I was wondering when the other shoe would drop, sort of say. I was so surprised and I'm so anxious to see what happens in the next book.
I can't say enough good things about this book. Dawna made such a good job in making it easy for readers to connect with the characters and the story. I really couldn't help but love this book.
