                                                          Review

Let me start off by saying that this is the first sci-fi book I’ve read and I really enjoyed it. The story is told in present tense and also in flashback. We also get to see through the eyes of two characters, Ariane our main character, and Zane her prospected love interest. As soon as Zane was introduced he had his own chapter and after that they alternated. 

The characters: Ariane, I really liked her and my heart was really breaking for her when she would describe what they would do to her back at GTX, the facility where she was born and where she lived for the first 6 years of her life, until her “father” rescued her. Mark her father, took care of her for 10 years and he is the one that set those 5 rules that were never to be broken. He worked at GTX and would get the inside scoop if they were looking for Ariane. I liked him in the beginning but then he became suspicious. Zane was one of the popular guys in school but at home, he could not be any more useless to his dad, who was the head of the police department. I was not fond of him what so ever, he mistreated Zane way too often. Zane’s mom left a day before his birthday the year before so he’s been dealing with that. Jenna was Ariane’s best friend, she wanted to be Rachel’s friend and part of the popular group, but Rachel couldn’t care less about her. And then there’s Rachel, the mean girl. I must say that there was some major bullying in this book, not a lot but just a few and those were hurtful, obviously I did not like her, she was a bully and was only happy at other people’s expense.  

Ariane goes to a regular school and is supposed to be unoticed, but when Rachel humiliates Jenna, Ariane has had it with Rachels’ mean ways and wants to find a way to get back at her. That is where Zane comes in; he has come up with the perfect plan to get back at her because he is also fed up with her evil ways and he wants Ariane to be a part of it.

Ariane’s reaction to Zane coming up to her to talk:

Zane: “I need to talk to you.”

Ariane: “What do you want?” I stared at him. We had no classes together this year, and obviously we didn’t run in the same social circle. Because I’m allergic to bitch.

Lol, I had to share I thought that was a funny part. I literally laughed out loud!

Zane comes from “the popular group” so Ariane has no idea what he would want with her.

I thought the writing was great like everything flowed together very well and the plot was good, I was really into the story from the beginning. The story went at a good pace. I liked this book and I enjoyed reading it and I'm looking forward to seeing what's going to happen next in the story. I give this story 4/5 stars. I recommend this book to sci-fi readers, I think they would really enjoy it.
